The leader of the dreaded Boko Haram Jihadi
sect, Abubakar Shekau has released a new video
of the female students kidnapped from their
school hostel in Chibok town, Borno State last
month.
In the new video released on Monday, Shekau
claims he has converted the girls to Islam and
demanded the release of Boko Haram members in
prisons through Nigeria as a condition to freeing
the innocent girls.
The new concerns among parents of the missing
girls is that the deadly sect might have
slaughtered the students who allegedly refused to
convert to Islam since the video showed about
100 girls.
The students fully dressed in Hijab were seen
reciting the Koran.
Shekau said he will keep the girls in hostage until
their members had been freed by the Nigerian
government.
The 17 minute video obtained by AFP is yet to be
released but a preview is available at the end of
this article.
2 of the 100 girls said they were Christian and
have converted to Islam while the others say
they’re Muslim.
The girls reportedly appeared calm and one said
that they had not been harmed.
This is coming 24 hours after Borno State
Governor Kashim Shettima said that the girls had
been sighted somewhere in Nigeria.
An unconfirmed report released last week
disclosed that the girls were spotted in Sambisa
Forest in Borno state.
