As I sat down in his living room waiting for
him to come out of the bedroom for the
interview, I suddenly fixed my gaze at a
portrait of him in front of me and the
gawky toothy smile which has become the
trade mark of Comedian Omo Baba no.1.
He sauntered into the living room and
murmured some words of apology and sits
right next to me as we settle down for this
exclusive interview with NET. The
Comedian/Actor/Compere talks about
marriage, career and his upcoming album.
What you have been up to lately?
I have been working on a new project,
helping the working class live longer than
expected. We all know that the life
expectancy for a Third World country like
Nigeria is 45 years. So, I decided to give
back to the society by organizing this
comedy show once every week at
RODIZZIO Bar and Lounge to help improve
the health of the working class and reduce
the stress associated with the hustle and
bustle of Lagos life.
That is interesting. So when did you start
this project?
It started precisely on the May 29, 2013.
Like I said before, it is my own way of
giving back to the society.
Most of your colleagues are getting
married and quitting bachelorhood. When
are you planning to get married and who is
the lucky lady?
(Laughs)…Well I will be getting married
soon and please don’t ask me about her.
Allow her to rest. Any way she is a
beautiful, intelligent and a wonderful
woman, that’s the much I’m willing to tell
about her but very soon I will be leaving
bachelorhood. Let’s all keep our fingers
crossed, soon ‘Fine boy’ will
introduce ‘Mrs Fine boy’ to the world.
Let’s talk about your craft, when you
mount the stage, where does your
inspiration come from?
I am just like any writer or painter that gets
inspiration from his environment. I read the
Bible a lot and get inspiration from it.
There are funny aspects of the Bible too
but I don’t make jokes from these funny
parts of the Holy Book. But, sincerely I get
all my inspirations from my God given
brain, though when I am on stage I get
inspired by looking at my immediate
environment. Frankly speaking, most of
the things I say are spontaneous.
Besides comedy what other things are you
into?
Omo Baba is an interior decorator, an
actor, a musician and finally a confirmed
businessman.
You released a few music singles in the
past, when is your album coming out?
The album is ready and will hit the market
soon. It is titled ‘Finally Fineboy’ .
What kind of songs should we be
expecting from the album and are there
going to be collaborations?
The album covers a lot of genres of music
and I have collaborations with the late
Dagrin, Sound Sultan, 9ice, Terry G, GT da
Guitarman, Isolate, Rocksteady and the
rest. It is a deviation from the norm and a
breathe of fresh air’
What are your plans for the coming year?
The album should drop soon. Also, you
will be seeing me on television featuring in
sitcoms and I will definitely continue with
my charity work and dabble into other
businesses.

of the N1.2 trillion offered by the government to
public universities, starting with the release of
N100 billion this year and the balance of N1.1
trillion to be spread over five years from 2014.

Oil Theft: How FG Ignored Recommendations on Pipeline Surveillance
There are strong indications that the current
spate of pipeline vandalism and crude oil theft
was fueled by the refusal by the federal
government and Nigerian National Petroleum
Corporation (NNPC) to implement expert
recommendations on pipeline surveillance and
security, THISDAY has learnt.
THISDAY gathered from sources within the
NNPC that both the oilfield services giant,
Schlumberger and the Nuhu Ribadu-led
committee had in 2010 and 2012, respectively,
made far-reaching recommendations to the
Ministry of Petroleum Resources and NNPC on
the protection and surveillance of pipelines in
Nigeria as well as the adoption of metering at
oil well heads, flow stations and export
terminals.
It was however learnt that three years after
Schlumberger made its presentations on a
proposed pipeline surveillance system and
exactly one year after the Ribadu committee
submitted its report, the NNPC was yet to act
on these recommendations.
This development, it was learnt, has fueled
speculations that the federal government is
unserious in its campaign against pipeline
vandalism and crude oil theft.
Investigations revealed that Schlumberger had
in 2010 hosted a delegation from the NNPC,
Police, Nigerian Army, Navy and the Air Force
on an important phase of their investigation of
the various solutions for the protection of
pipelines in the country.
In a 12-page document obtained from the
NNPC by THISDAY, Schlumberger had
“suggested a two-phase approach to
demonstrate competence and capability of the
surveillance system, with an initial visit in
Southampton, United Kingdom, with the
second live viewing in Nigeria of an existing
qualification test application with Shell
Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) in
the Afam oil field.”
The phase one approach incorporates
technical presentations and technology
demonstrations on robust pipeline surveillance
and response solution.
Schlumberger had suggested that long-range
infrared close circuit television (CCTV)
installation for parameter monitoring would
provide additional surveillance on the
pipelines.
“Once an intruder is detected by the fibre optic
based Integriti System, the CCTV would be
used to verify and validate the type of
intrusion. This CCTV service would
significantly reduce response time and
potentially eliminate the need in certain
circumstances to dispatch personnel to the
site for a Level-1 reconnoiter and response to
the intrusion detected,” said Schlumberger in
its report submitted to NNPC.
Under the second phase of the programme,
Schlumberger was to install an Integriti
pipeline monitoring system at Shell’s Okoloma
Gas Plant in the Afam field in Rivers State to
detect leaks and activity in close proximity to
the pipeline, with a Command and Response
Centre set up in Schlumberger’s visualisation
centre in Port Harcourt.
The Command and Response Centre, it was
learnt, would identify threats; detect leaks and
intrusions, as well as determine the risk level
and provide Level-1 response.
THISDAY gathered that NNPC ignored this
recommendation despite the support given by
the NNPC team, which met with Schlumberger,
police, army, navy and air force.
With NNPC throwing away the
recommendations made in 2010,
Schlumberger in 2012 submitted a fresh
proposal on Pipeline Surveillance and Security
Services for Nigerian Pipeline Network to the
Ribadu committee.
Titled, “Opportunity Brief for the Petroleum
Revenue Task Force: Distributed Vibration
Sensing Systems”, the new proposal observed
that sustained vandalism and crude oil theft
had adversely affected the efficiency and
reliability of NNPC’s pipeline network in the
country.
In the report to the Ribadu committee, the oil
service provider said the pipeline surveillance
and security group of companies, comprising
a consortium of Tricontinental Oil Services
Limited, Group 4 Securities Limited (G4S),
Schlumberger Nigeria Limited and
Schlumberger Overseas Limited, offered to
provide pipeline security services to NNPC,
comprising automated surveillance/monitoring
and metering with a fully functional control
centre.
Yet this was ignored by the federal government
and the Ribadu report denigrated by
government functionaries that did not want to
see its recommendations implemented.
In its report, the Ribadu committee had noted
that the country loses about 250,000 barrels
per day of crude oil to theft and recommended
the full automation of Nigeria’s petroleum
industry, with a new metering and measuring
regimes.
The committee also recommended robust
pipeline surveillance and fingerprinting of
Nigerian oil to enable tracking.
According to the committee, fingerprinting can
be used to ascribe the status of “legal oil” to
oil that has been obtained and sold legally by
the federal government and the operators.
The Ribadu committee also recommended “a
deliberate policy that results in the ban from
the Nigerian market of corporations and
individuals that have either been found
culpable of receiving stolen oil from revenue
theft in the Nigerian petroleum industry or
insufficiency in providing information of its
participation (legal or otherwise) in petroleum
sector transactions.”
However, the federal government NNPC has
ignored all these recommendations, fueling
concerns that they are paying lip service to the
campaign against crude oil theft.
In a related incident, the Joint Task Force in
the Niger Delta, Operation Pulo Shielf, has
announced that it dismantled a militant camp
in Bakassi Local Government Area of Cross
River.
The force said yesterday that it also destroyed
59 illegal refineries, seized 4 vessels, and
arrested 7 suspects.
•A statement from the JTF’s Media
Coordinator, Onyema Nwachukwu, said several
arms were recovered from the camp.
•“During the clamp down, the troops recovered
24 x 7.62mm round cartons, five Browning
machine gun ammunition, three x 7.62mm
round special, and seven live cartridges. Other
items recovered from the camp include four
machine gun belts and one passport fibre boat
belonging to Inland Water Ways Agency,” the
JTF stated in the statement made available to
online news medium Premium Times.
According to Nwachukwu, the camp, known in
local parlance as “Efut Esighi” militant camp,
served as an operational base for pirates and
militants.
The task force also said its operatives
destroyed three illegal crude oil distillation
camps concealed in a forest at Agbede Village
and Egwua 2 general area of Etsako West and
Warri South West Local Government Areas of
Edo and Delta States respectively.
•The task force listed items used by the oil
pirates to include seven steel surface tanks,
seven locally-fabricated ovens used for
heating stolen crude oil, 235 metal drums, and
four dug-out pits containing stolen crude oil.
All the items were destroyed during the
operation.
•In a similar operation carried out in Bayelsa
and Rivers sectors of JTF, troops shut down
56 illegal crude oil distillation camps, the
spokesperson said.
•The troops destroyed 16 Cotonou boats, 22
pumping machines, one power generator, 25
zinc plates used for fabricating local crude oil
distiller, one welding machine, and 32 sawed
pipes used by oil thieves.
•The troops also impounded four metal barges
and a speedboat caught engaging in illegal oil
bunkering activities in the operation, which
took place from November 11 to 22.
•Nwachukwu further stated that seven
suspects were arrested for oil theft related
offences and are currently undergoing
preliminary investigations.
ICC Declares Conflict in N’Eastern Nigeria Civil War
The International Criminal Court (ICC) has
determined that the conflict between Boko
Haram insurgents and the security forces in
northern-eastern Nigerian is a civil war.
In a report released at the weekend from the
Office of the Prosecutor (OTP) of the ICC titled:
“Report on Preliminary Examination Activities
2013”, which focused on conflicts, genocide
and crimes against humanity in 10 countries,
including Nigeria, ICC said after a careful
review of the situation, the violence in Nigeria
qualified as an armed conflict of non-
international character.
Under the Geneva Conventions, a "non-
international armed conflict" (NIAC) is the
technical name for a civil war. This brings the
ICC into line with a similar determination made
by the International Committee for the Red
Cross (ICRC) earlier this year.
The determination that the situation is a NIAC
also means that the norms of international
humanitarian law, including in particular,
Article 3 Under the Geneva Conventions, are
formally deemed to be applicable to the
theatre of conflict.
The prosecutor’s report stated: “The required
level of intensity and the level of organisation
of parties to the conflict necessary for the
violence to be qualified as an armed conflict of
non-international character appear to have
been met.
“The Office has therefore determined that
since at least May 2013 allegations of crimes
occurring in the context of the armed violence
between Boko Haram and Nigerian security
forces should be considered within the scope
of article 8(2)(c) and (e) of the Statute.”
ICC noted that since the increase of security
operations after the declaration of a state of
emergency in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa
States on 14 May 2013, reports of crimes
allegedly committed by Nigerian security
forces had also increased.
ICC, however, acknowledged that the
information available at this stage does not
provide a reasonable basis to believe that
killings and other abuses attributed to the
Nigerian security forces in their response to
Boko Haram constituted crimes against
humanity.
“In particular, the information available is
insufficient to establish that the alleged acts
were committed as part of an attack against
the civilian population and pursuant to a state
policy to launch such an attack. The Office
may revisit this assessment in the light of new
facts or evidence,” the report added.
ICC said it considered whether the contextual
elements for war crimes had been met,
including the existence of a non-international
armed conflict and came to a conclusion that
the latter existed.
“In this context, the Office has examined the
level of organisation of Boko Haram as an
armed group and the intensity of the armed
confrontations between Boko Haram and the
Nigerian security forces (JTF, police forces
and military forces not deployed under the
JTF).
“In terms of organisation, the Office has
considered the hierarchical structure of Boko
Haram; its command rules and ability to
impose discipline among its members; the
weapons used by the group; its ability to plan
and carry out coordinated attacks; and the
number of Boko Haram forces under
command.
“The Office has concluded that Boko Haram
fulfils a sufficient number of relevant criteria to
be considered an organised armed group
capable of planning and carrying out military
activities.
“With respect to the level of intensity of the
armed confrontations between Boko Haram
and Nigerian security forces, the Office has
analysed over 200 incidents occurring
between July 2009 and May 2013.
“In particular, the Office has assessed the
extent and sustained nature of such incidents,
as well as their seriousness; the frequency and
intensity of armed confrontations; their
geographical and temporal spread; the number
and composition of personnel involved on both
sides; the mobilisation and the distribution of
weapons; and the extent to which the situation
has attracted the attention of the UN Security
Council,” said the report.
ICC said it had requested the federal
government to explain the reason for the wide
gap between the numbers of Boko Haram
suspects arrested and those charged to court.
The court said its OTP had met with
representatives of the Federal High Court of
Nigeria, the Director of Public Prosecutions of
the Federation, the Office of the National
Security Adviser, the Nigerian Human Rights
Commission, senior officers of the Police and
the State Security Services, among other
relevant officials.
It also said that the federal government
provided the OTP with a range of additional
documents, potentially relevant for its ongoing
jurisdictional and admissibility assessment
and that it would continue its dialogue with
the Nigerian government regarding the relevant
information needed to perform its admissibility
assessment.
ICC added that investigation was continuing to
determine the allegation that security forces
committed crimes against humanity in the
course of responding to attacks by Boko
Haram.

‘Don Jazzy and I are still going to work together’, Wande Coal
Despite the recent fracas between them on
social network Twitter, Wande Coal says
there is ‘no problem’ between him and
former boss Don Jazzy. Yeah right.
In an interview with Factory 78 , WC calmly
but unconvincingly explained that all is
well between him and the Mavin Records
boss.
‘I’m mean there’s not problem, like I said,
Don jazzy’s my brother, we’re cool.
Everything is all crispy men ‘.
He also added that he still be collaborating

Jazzy, I’ll go and hug him. We’re still

Wande Coal left Mavin Records a few
months ago to kick start his own label
Black Diamond Entertainment. His
departure was followed by his former label
boss accusing him of intellectual property
theft.
In related news, Wande says he’s hoping
to sign a couple of new acts to his label.
Let’s hope he fares better than most
artistes who’ve gone down that road in
recent times.

President Jonathan Battles Stomach Pain , Departs London For Nigeria
2 Days after President Goodluck Jonathan
suddenly fell ill and was forced to skip a
meeting Thursday in London with an
investment advisory group, his PR handlers
today disclosed the nature of his illness.
A statement by Reuben Abati revealed that the
President was indisposed as a result of ‘serious
abdominal pains’, which in medical terms is
called ‘acute abdomen’.
Doctors who examined and treated President
Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for the sudden onset
of severe abdominal pains in London have
certified him fully fit to return home and
continue his official duties.
After a thorough evaluation of the President’s
symptoms, medically referred to as acute
abdomen, the doctors concluded that no
surgical intervention was required.
President Jonathan will therefore return to
Abuja Sunday evening and will be at work in
the Presidential Villa as usual on Monday.
The President is scheduled to depart from
London at about 1400 hours GMT and arrive at
the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe
International Airport at about 2000 hours.
Earlier today, the president’s media adviser, Dr.
Reuben Abati described as fiction the story that
he fell ill in London after a “heavy birthday party
thrown to celebrate his 56th birthday” at the
Intercontinental Hotel.
Abati, in a press statement expressed regrets
that despite the open admittance of the
president’s ill health in London, some online
organs went ahead to make what he called ”
scurrilous distortions of the facts of the
President’s indisposition”.
“The truth”, said Abati, ” is that President
Jonathan observed his 56th birthday
anniversary quietly. For part of the day, he was
airborne, in transit between Abuja and London.
On arrival in London, he spent the rest of the
day in the privacy of his hotel room. It has
never been his custom to celebrate birthday
anniversaries and no exception was made this
year. ”

Adam Levine’s fiancĂ©e laughed at his Sexiest Man title
Adam Levine ‘s fiancée couldn’t stop
laughing when he told her he’d been
named Sexiest Man Alive by People
magazine.
The Maroon 5 frontman, who beat off stiff
competition from the likes of ‘Luther’ actor
Idris Elba , singer Justin Timberlake and
retired soccer star David Beckham to the
prestigious title, says his wife-to-be,
Victoria’s Secret model Behati Prinsloo ,
found it amusing.
‘The Voice’ US judge told People magazine
her reaction was: ‘Laughter, a lot of
laughter,’ adding: ‘She’s keeping me
humble.’
On Tuesday night’s November 19, 2013
episode of ‘The Voice’, host Carson Daly
announced Adam’s big win to the studio
audience, much to the singer’s
embarrassment. The 34-year-old hunk
said he shared the news with Behati by
saying: ‘Hey, how ya doing? Let’s go to
dinner tonight. And People magazine says
I’m the Sexiest Man Alive.’
Adam – who takes the title from 2012′s
winner Channing Tatum – also said about
his win: ‘As a musician, you have
fantasies that you want to win Grammys,
but I didn’t really think that this was on the
table. I was just amazed and stunned and
it almost seemed like they were kidding,
but they weren’t, so that’s cool.’
The singer also confessed he was looking
forward to settling down with his fiancée,
after popping the question in July. He said:
‘I didn’t think marriage was for me for a
long time. I was ready when I was ready.
That’s about as simple as it could possibly
be.’

Timaya Blasts Ex -Girlfriend : “ Dating Empress Njamah Was My Biggest Mistake
The story of Timaya and his former girlfriend,
Nollywood actress Empress Njamah is a typical
romance goes sour case.
In a recent interview, Timaya claims his biggest
regret was the short-lived relationship he had
with the controversial actress because she has
a ‘bad record’.
Hear Timaya in his own words:
“ you should not date somebody who already
has a negative record. In my own case, it
affected me at that time. I feel that a
relationship should be between two people and
not exposed to the rest of the world. Only a
smart man is able to keep his relationship
private.”
Timaya and Empress back in the days
According to sources, their relationship problem
started in 2009 when Timaya was beaten to
pulp at a Lagos-based church for rough
handling the actress.

Nigerian Woman Killed By Roommate In Columbus Indiana : Adaobi M Obih Murdered
Police in Columbus Indiana are still trying to
unravel the mystery behind the murder of a
Nigerian woman identified as Adaobi Michaella
Obih.
The 26-year-old lady was found with throat slit
and multiple knife wounds on Tuesday the
19th of November 2013 at her apartment in
Columbus Indiana.
The person of interest in Adaobi’s murder is her
neighbour, a 36-year-old man named Ryan
Allen Klug.
Since Adaobi’s murder, Ryan has disappeared
into thin air.
Police officials are currently treating Adaobi’s
death as homicide.
According to sources, the victim was a PHD
student and the first born of her family.
Ryan A. Klug, 36, of 3461 Limestone Lane, Apt.
2134, is the prime suspect in the death of his
roommate, Adaobi M. Obih, who suffered
multiple knife wounds, according to a
probable-cause affidavit.
Obih’s boyfriend, Jude Osara, last
communicated with her on Sunday afternoon,
and then was unable to get text-message
replies after that time, the affidavit said.
The woman’s throat was cut, the charging
document said, and blood-saturated clothes
the same size as Klug wears were found in their
two-bedroom apartment.
A warrant for Klug’s arrest was signed earlier
today, and Columbus police have reason to
believe he may be in Ohio.
What a wicked world!
May her soul rest in perfect peace.
Here is a beautiful tribute written for late Adaobi
by her sister’s friend
I never knew you, never met you, never even
spoke to you. However, I knew something of
you. My friend Alexis always spoke of you. I
have known Alexis for over 6 years close to 7
really and all she ever did was talk about her
amazing sister- Adaobi. It was obvious she
loved you and shared a strong bond with you.
It was always her sister this and that. It was
impossible to know Alexis without knowing
about her sister. You were definitely a huge
part of her life and her joy. she always talked
with excitement about anything happening in
your life. she was always proud of you and
eager to show you off. I never had to meet you
to know that you were an amazing elder sister
to my friend and daughter to your parents. I
never had to meet you to know that know that
you were an inspiration to your sister. When
she shared the happiness you brought her with
us, you indirectly brought happiness to us. You
were a true blessing indeed. Your life was not in
vain for you brought smiles and joy (directly
and indirectly) to the hearts of many.
Words will never be enough to explain how
much you will be missed. I share my friend’s
grief at your death. However, the life you lived
will be celebrated and the memories you left
behind forever cherished!
Adieu Adaobi
REST IN PEACE!

17000 Nigerians Seek Asylum In Cameroon , Chad & Niger Over Boko Haram Threat
A recent study carried out by the United
Nations High Commission for Refugees
(UNHCR) revealed that no fewer than 36, 000
people have fled their homes in the North-
eastern Nigerian states of Borno, Yobe and
Adamawa to seek refuge in neighbouring
nations, on account of the Boko Haram
insurgency.
According to Ms. Angele Dikongue-Atangana,
the UNHCR Representative to Nigeria and
ECOWAS, while about 19,000 of the 36,000
refugees are Chadians and Nigeriens who have
been forced to return home, the remaining
17,000 are bonafide Nigerians who are now
seeking asylum in neighbouring Cameroun,
Chad and Niger. This is a scary wake-up call
to Nigeria to find a quick solution to the
insurgency that is forcing our compatriots into
refugee camps in surrounding countries.
Incidentally, these three countries into which
the fleeing Nigerians have flocked, have over
the years had many of their citizens seeking
refuge and better lives in Nigeria. In essence,
they do not have the capacity to accommodate
the influx of such a large number of refugees
from Nigeria or any other country. As a matter
of fact, none of our neighbouring countries has
the capacity to handle the kind of refugee
situation that could arise from any serious
breakdown of law and order in Nigeria.
Although Dikongue-Atangana said the UNHCR
“is working in collaboration with these countries
to ensure that the refugee situation of the
asylum seekers is determined, so as to
guarantee their safety”, not too much can be
expected from these countries.
It is disheartening that Nigerians now have to
resort to seeking asylum in less endowed
countries like Cameroun, Chad and Niger. This
is more so because, out of about 1,800
refugees in Nigeria as at the end of last month,
865 were Cameroonians. Until now, Nigeria had
provided a safe haven for refugees from other
African countries, notably Liberia, Sierra Leone,
Mali, Chad, Niger, Sudan, Cote d’Ivoire and
Congo. Our porous borders have made it easy
for those fleeing from unemployment, hunger
and starvation in neighbouring countries to
cross into Nigeria without any form of
documentation. All these are outside the fact
that Nigeria had to formally integrate over
1,200 of the last batch of Liberian refugees into
the local Nigerian com, munities they were
resident, while about 1,700 of them opted to
return to Liberia.
We are now faced with a situation in which
citizens of our Big Brother nation, Nigeria, are
now running to countries that are just
managing to survive, because of Islamist
insurgents! We have always raised the alarm
on the need to do everything possible to avert
any cataclysmic situation that could lead to a
serious refugee situation in Nigeria.
Although Nigeria is the fourth largest West
African country, in terms of landmass, its over
160 million population is more than the
population of the rest of West Africa put
together. This means that the entire West
Africa, put together, cannot absorb the refugees
that would be thrown up by any serious crisis in
Nigeria.
Until now, we have only had to cope with the
problem of internally displaced persons,
brought about by flood, communal and
localized religious clashes. Incidentally, we
have not done a great job of coping with this
situation. Internally displaced persons from the
numerous Jos crises are still crying for
attention while we are still playing politics with
the fate of those internally displaced by Boko
Haram attacks.
The quest of 17,000 displaced Nigerians for
asylum in neighbouring countries, on account
of insecurity, is bad for Nigeria’s image. The
Federal Government should step up its
campaigns for an end to insurgency, and the
restoration of peace in northern Nigeria, to stem
the trend. It is not enough to deploy soldiers to
major towns and cities in the troubled areas,
leaving the rural areas largely unprotected.
Much as we do not delude ourselves that the
war against Boko Haram can be won overnight,
the time has come to rethink the current
approach to the war, as the mindless killings
have yet to abate.
According to the UNHCR, the world is facing its
worst refugee crises in 20 years, as war and all
manner of conflicts are forcing people to flee
their homes. The organisation noted that “the
humanitarian situation in West Africa has
worsened notably due to insecurity and high
unemployment rate, as well as drought.”
With the bulk of those displaced in various West
African countries looking up to Nigeria for
succour and stability, it is almost unthinkable
that Nigeria would now be the one spewing out
tens of thousands of refugees. The
consequences for the country, and the region at
large, are better imagined than experienced.
That is the more reason why we must do
everything possible to arrest the nation’s
security challenge.
While we commend the Federal Government for
the deployment of more soldiers and the
extension of the emergency imposed on the
most affected states, we call for the
strengthening of intelligence in the war against
Boko Haram. The government must also spare
a thought for, and provide succour, for our
vulnerable citizens who have either been
displaced internally, or are now seeking asylum
in nearby countries. This is a responsibility that
we must not shirk or leave to UNHCR and our
neighbouring countries.

Femi Fani Kayode Defends The Yoruba People On Facebook “ We’ re A Nation Not A Tribe ”
Former Nigeria’s Aviation Minister Chief Femi
Fani Kayode took to his Facebook page few
hours ago to defend his people as we look
forward to 2015 Presidential election in Nigeria.
To avoid tribalism label, he didn’t mention any
other tribe in his Facebook comment rather he
took his time to defend the Yoruba people in
every statement he made.
Read what FFK wrote on Facebook today:
‘‘At the end of the day whatever happens in
2015 the only thing that is important to me is
that the yoruba nation is in a position to defend
itself in the event of any hostilities from any
quarter. We are a nation, not a tribe and we will
not allow any other nationality to claim our land
or to lord it over us. That will never be allowed
to happen again. Either Nigeria must be
restructured or Nigeria… shall break.
Finally no nationality that has a pathological
hatred for the Yoruba will ever lead or rule
Nigeria again and neither will they be allowed
to live amongst us peacefully. That much I
know- if you hate us, you better forget ruling
from the centre and stick to your zones and
states and you better leave our territory and
relocate back to your state of origin.
This matter will finally be settled once and for
all in 2015. Nigeria will be 100 years old as
from next year. It is time for us to finally decide
whether we still want to remain together or go
our separate ways”.
If Yoruba nation comes into existence, Femi
Fani Kayode should be made the President…..
He has so much love for his people.
Toyin Lawani cautions drunk fiancĂ© at Peter Okoye’s wedding
Our reporter spotted popular fashion stylist
Toyin Lawani cautioning her fiancé Trigga
Kess at Peter Okoye‘s traditional wedding
to Lola Omotayo on November 17, 2013 at
the at the Ark Event Centre, Lekki, Lagos.
Apparently the 21-year-old (yes, he’s 10
years younger than she is) had a bit too
much to drink.
His wife-to-be Toyin approached him,
grabbed his ear and pulled it, whispering
to him to slow down on the alcohol. The
young man actually composed himself
afterwards.
It was hard for anybody to notice though,
as guests were too busy dancing and
making merry or taking pictures of the

Femi Fani Kayode’ s N 230Million Money Laundering Case Delayed Again
The money laundering case against former
aviation minister, Chief Femi Fani Kayode has
been put on hold again due to the absence of
lead counsel from EFCC .
The absence of prosecution counsel on
Thursday stalled the trial of FFK over alleged
N230 million money laundering charge.
FFK is currently on trial on a 47-count charge
before a Federal High Court in Lagos.
The trial could not continue as scheduled
because the lead counsel to the Economic and
Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr
Festus Keyamo, assigned a team of lawyers
from his chambers to represent him.
The team of lawyers was led by Mr Vitalis
Ahaotu.
Counsel to the accused, Mr Ifedayo Adedipe
(SAN), therefore, challenged the legality of
Keyamo’s chambers to appear in court.
Adedipe said that Keyamo had no legal
authority to delegate his law firm to practice on
his behalf.
He cited Section 24 of the Legal Practioners
Act, a 2007 Supreme Court decision in the case
of Okafor vs Nweke to back his argument.
“I object to the appearance of the chambers of
Festus Keyamo by his team of lawyers to
prosecute this case.
“Keyamo is not authorised under the Legal
Practitioner’s Act to assign his chambers to
practise,” Adedipe said.
However, the Prosecution Counsel, Ahaotu,
urged the court to disregard the submission of
the counsel to the accused, arguing that the
counsel should have filed such submission so
that they could give their reply.
Justice Rita Ofilli-Ajumogobia, consequently,
adjourned the case till Nov. 27 for further
mention and told the accused counsel to file
his application within two days.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that
the EFCC had on Feb. 11, re-arraigned Fani-
Kayode over alleged money laundering and
financial impropriety to the tune of N230
million.
The former minister’s re-arraignment was
consequent upon the re-assignment of the
case to another judge, following the transfer of
the former judge handling the matter.
Fani-Kayode was previously, arraigned on Dec.
23, 2008, he pleaded not guilty and was
granted bail in the sum of N200 million, with
two sureties in like sum.
The EFCC stated that Fani-Kayode committed
the offences when he was the Minister of
Aviation and that of Culture and Tourism.
The commission said that the offences
contravened the provisions of the Money
Laundering (Prohibition) Act, 2004
“ My Wife Wants To Kill Me . She Beats Me Everyday. I Don ’ t Want To Die Now ” – Husband Laments
Wonders they say shall never cease in this
world.
This is the case for a couple in Lagos state
Nigeria seeking for divorce over problems in
their marriage.
Mr Fashola Fakorede, a 75-year-old man today
urged a court in Igando to end his marriage to
his wife, 49-year-old Funke Fakorede who has
turned him into a punching bag.
Mr Fakorede said his young wife who
constantly beats him has inflicted injuries over
his body.
“My wife wants to kill me. She beats me every
day. I don’t want to die now, save my life. My
wife always beats me if I asked of food or
anything. She has turned it to a routine affair,
all the scars on my body are as a result of her
battery on me,’’ he said.
Fakorede said his wife no longer takes care of
him, adding, “she goes out and returns home at
will without seeking my permission. She can go
out for days and if I queried her, she will hit me
with any dangerous weapon she can lay her
hand on at that moment.
“And my daughter is also taking her footstep,
she brings home different men and my wife will
not query her. So, I sent her away from my
house,’’ he said.
He urged the court to dissolve the union, saying
that he was no longer in love with her and was
tired of the regular battery, which had led to his
ill-health.
“I am tired of the constant beating, I am afraid
this woman will kill me one day. I am not ready
to die now,’’ he pleaded.
According to PM, Funke, a trader, denied the
allegations, saying that she did not beat her
husband and has always taken good care of
him and respected him.
The mother of three, however, accused her
husband of denying the children the right to go
to school.
“My husband is unable to send any of his three
children to secondary school. My husband is
not responsible. None of our children went to
secondary school, all of them stopped
schooling at primary school,” she said.
She said her husband had disowned his
daughter, and urged the court not to grant his
wish as she still loved him.
“I have no anywhere to go as no man will want
to marry me at my age,’’ ‘
The case has been put over for hearing till Nov
25, 2013.
I don die ooooooo…Hahahaha please rescue
the grandpa o.
Tribute To Nigerian Ph . D Student Killed In Columbus Indiana … RIP Adaobi M. Obih
Here is a mind-blowing tribute written for late
Adaobi M Obih, a Nigerian lady who was
stabbed to death by her neighbour in Indiana on
Tuesday.
Tribute written by her friend at Spice Plaza.
Read it below:
I sit on my bed, hunched over my laptop. Drops
of tears fall on the keypad. I struggle to type,
my fingers hitting the soft keyboard as my
vision becomes blurry and the letters become
boxes of black and white. Why is the world so
cruel? Who could have ended a life so vibrant?
Flashes of the time I spent with her comes
flooding back. Adaobi in the green Maria Goretti
day-wear leading the rosary or dancing down
from and to St Anthony on Sunday. She was a
religious, athletic and charming girl, a little on
the boyish side but with a distinct feminine
touch. She was dedicated to great causes and
was a focused individual.
Her feminine side blossomed over the years.
Her Facebook posts always bring smiles to my
face. Her pictures are of a charming young
woman, but her post are about her passion for
sports. I always thought Adaobi managed to
merge the tomboy and the lady in her to
produce a remarkable and rarest gem.
I looked back to messages I should have sent
to her. Things I should have said to her. It hurts
me to know that I never knew her beyond those
wonderful years in Regina Mundi Secondary
School.
I wish my creative mind could recreate
moments before she died but my creative juice
seem to be dry and my thoughts are scattered.
She was a brave young woman and she was
physically strong. I imagine she must have
fought for her life. I wonder if she had been
scared. I wish she didn’t feel any pain. I wish
she died in peace as I know she now rest in
peace. I wish I were there with her. I wish her
death was not true but it is. She is gone.
Frantic search of the internet for news update
has brought more news about her murder. My
dear friend was stabbed to death. this gentle
soul was stabbed in multiple places and her
throat was cut with a knife. Ryan A. Klug, 36, of
3461 Limestone Lane, Apt. 2134, is the prime
suspect, a blood-saturated clothes the same
size as Klug wears were found in their two-
bedroom apartment. Every new information on
Adaobi’s murder makes us understand what
she went through during the last hours of her
stay in this world but this information makes
me angry and makes her death harder to bear. I
pray Adaobi finds peace, I take consolation in
the fact that she lived her life to the fullest.
She was a rare gem. A gift to the world that
knew her.
TRIBUTE TO A DEAR FRIEND
Woe to that living heart that stole your life -
Let him/her not die,
Let him/her live-forever, if possible.
Since it’s not possible
Woe betide him/her.
My heart aches, I turn around in circles, sharp
pain dashing through my bleeding heart.
No one knows my pain, no one can feel what I
feel, no one can miss you like I do.
You were known by all in different ways.
We feel the pain of your death in different level.
We miss you in unique ways.
Of time lost
Of time gained
Of time spent
Of moments with you
I am glad our path crossed
Rest dear
Till we meet again.
Never to part.
Oh dear this tribute brought tears to my eyes.
RIP dear…. crying…..

Twitter overtakes Facebook as preferred social media network for teenagers
Few years ago, this may have seemed
unlikely, however going by recent reports,
social networking site, Facebook may have
lost its popularity, especially among
teenagers and the younger generation.
The social media platform has been
usurped from its position by rival social
networking and micro blogging service,
Twitter .
According to Piper Jaffray’s ‘Taking Stock
with Teens’ , a semi-annual teen market
research report in the US, ‘Twitter is the
new king of teens, with 26% naming it as
their ‘most important’ social site. Only 23%
said Facebook was most important, down
from a high of 42%. ’
This decline in Facebook’s popularity
among ‘cool kids’ may be ascribed to the
fact that older generations have also
decided to join the social networking site,
creating a sort of intrusion into the
somewhat ‘private’ lives of teens.
Facebook CEO , Mark Zuckerberg had
previously admitted that the social media
has lost its ‘coolness’ adding that the
platform is becoming ‘ubiquitous like a
utility’
While this may be true, Piper Jaffray’s
report further added that Facebook-owned
Instagram has however increased in
popularity with 23% of teens picking it as
their No.1 choice, in sharp contrast to last
year’s 12%.
Police Killed ASUU President , Prof Festus Iyayi – Gunshot Wounds Found On Corpse
A secret informant has told Sahara reporters
that former ASUU President Professor Festus
Iyayi who reportedly died in a fatal car crash
involving Kogi State Governor’s convoy was
killed by policemen.
The source claimed that the injuries found on
the late writer’s chest were consistent with
gunshot injuries and that a bullet did pierce his
heart.
One Dr. Paul Amodu of the Specialist Hospital
in Lokoja had revealed that Professor Iyayi died
after “something” pierced his chest, but he
didn’t specify what it was.
It can be recalled that it was revealed last week
said the popular professor and writer died in a
collision with a security vehicle in Governor
Wada’s convoy.
Sources at ASUU said they had dissuaded
Iyayi’s family from a “rushed” burial, as they
suspected foul play. One of the sources recalled
that another former president of ASUU, Dr.
Mahmood Tukur, also died in suspicious
circumstances on the Kaduna-Zaria highway,
with the police claiming he died of an asthma
attack because he ate pepper which, they
claimed, triggered it.
Our source spoke with Prof. Iyayi’s son, Omole,
regarding the latest information, but he said the
family was unaware, and that they do not even
have the autopsy performed yet.
A press statement issued by the Nigerian
Medical Association (NMA)signed by its
President Osahom Enabulele has previously
called for a special inquiry into Professor Iyayi’s
death but the statement didn’t say if the
doctors found that Iyayi may been shot as
alleged by the anonymous source.
Christian Man Survives Boko Haram Attack: Habila Adamu Refused To Convert To Islam Or Deny Christ
Christian Man Survives Boko Haram Terrorists
Attack: Habila Adamu Refused To Convert To
Islam Or Deny Christ
Pictured above is a Nigerian christian man
named Habila Adamu from Yobe State who
recently escaped a gunshot attack by Boko
Haram terrorists who wanted him to deny
Christ and convert to Islam.
Habila claims he was shot in the head with an
AK 47 rifle but he survived it.
After surviving the gunshot attack to his head,
Adamu narrated his ordeal to a foreign
christian group.
He claims the terrorists targeted him because
he is a Christian.
“They wanted me to deny Jesus. They want to
‘Islamitize’ Nigeria. That is why they are
targeting Christians,” he said in a CBN video
posted on YouTube.
“If you agree to deny your faith you will be safe.
If you don’t agree to do it, they will kill you,” he
added.
And that is how he answered why he chose to
stand his ground and refused to deny Christ.
“What can separate us from the love of Christ?
Is it hardship? Is it persecution? Is it sword?
No. Nothing can separate us from the love of
Christ,” he said.
“Christ did something for me and all the people
in the world. We are sinners! We are
condemned criminals! We are supposed to die!
But He took all these burdens! He paid for our
debts! He died for us! Why can I not submit to
Jesus? That is what I did. I stood for him!”
Over 1000 Nigerians Being Held In A Warehouse in Saudi Arabia Over Incomplete Residency Papers
The BBC is reporting via their BBCAfrica
twitter handle that over 1000 Nigerians are
being held in inhumane conditions in a
warehouse in Saudi Arabia over issues
concerning incomplete residency papers.
There are barely any details yet, but we
sincerely hope that this is being looked
into by the Nigerian Government.
