AFRIMA reveals categories for 2014 awards

The committee for Africa Music Awards
( AFRIMA ) has revealed the official award
categories for the 2014 edition of the pan-
Africa award.
Organisers say entries for the award will
commence from March 28, 2014 and will
run till June 20, 2014, to be ratified at the
AFRIMA International committee’s
conference in Cotonou, Benin Republic
from November 21 to 24, 2014 where 5
Regional directors and 32 country
directors are expected to attend. Entries
will include the video, the song, and profile
of the artiste only.
The 32 award categories released are
divided into the Regional and Non-
Regional categories.
The Regional categories include :
1. Best Male Artiste of Eastern Africa
2. Best Female Artiste of East Africa
3. Best Male Artiste Central Africa
4. Best Female Artiste Central Africa
5. Best Male Artiste in Southern Africa
6. Best Female Artiste of Southern Africa
7. Best Male Artiste in North Africa
8. Best Female Artiste in North Africa
9. Best Male Artiste of West Africa
0. Best Female Artiste of West Africa
1. Best African Group
Categories for the Non-Regionals include :
1. Best Male Artiste inspirational Music
2. Best Female Artiste inspirational
music
3. Best inspirational Music Group
4. Best Traditional African Male Artiste
5. Best Traditional African Female
Artiste
6. Best Traditional African Group
7. Revelation of the African continent
8. Most promising African Artiste of the
Continent
9. Producer of the Year

1. Song of the year
2. Video of the year
3. Song writer of the year
4. Album of the year
5. R ‘N’ B Single of the year/Pop Single
of the year/Contemporary song of the
